From 2002 - 2008 Michele Ratté collaborated on large-scale gilded mono-prints with fellow artist, Joan Morris (joanmorrisartist.com). Working together they invented a process for permanent application of precious metals onto textiles, and were awarded a U.S. Patent for their process. Their collaborative work has been exhibited widely in the U.S. and abroad, and is in the permanent collections of the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art and The Rhode Island School of Design Art Museum.
The Green Gold Tree
In 2012 Michele Ratté worked with Julia Zanes and Donald Saaf on a multi-media marionette theater project called, "The Green Gold Tree", based on Goethe's story of Faust. The production was written and directed by Julia Zanes, and the music was written and performed by Donald Saaf and the Bluebird Orchestra. Ratté printed 23kt gold textiles of Zanes's art for costuming her puppets.
